EGX ends Wednesday mixed; market cap loses EGP 430m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a varied note.

The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 0.49%, finishing the session at 13,617 points.

On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.29% to close at 532.84 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose by 0.16% to 1,376 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index slid by 0.15% to end the session at 2,013 points.

Market capitalisation lost about EGP 430 million to EGP 728.05 billion on Wednesday from EGP 728.48 on Monday.

Trading volume totalled 143.44 million securities exchanged at a turnover of EGP 827.23 million through about 16,360 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 68.87 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 59.28 million and EGP 9.59 million, respectively.
