EGX ends Wednesday mixed; market cap sheds EGP 175.9m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index inched up 7.43 points, or 0.04%, finishing the session at 16,993 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.14% to EGP, with a turnover of EGP 38.8 million.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 175.9 million and closed the session at EGP 954.10 billion.

The small-and mid-cap index EGX70 dipped 0.14% to 848.41 points, and the broader EGX100 index slid 0.5% to 2,178 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index inched up 0.04% to 2,912 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 228.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.06 billion through 25,000 transactions.

Foreign Investors were net buyers with EGP 26.9 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 22.5 million and EGP 4.3 million, respectively.
