EGX ends Wednesday mixed; market cap sheds EGP 721.5m

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index has changed its upward trend to slid 21.03 points, or 0.13%, finishing the session at 16,176.41 points.

The small- and mid-cap index EGX70 edged up 0.27% to 796.75 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.22% to 2,034 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.18% to 2,714 points.

Trading volume amounted to 201.7 million shares exchanged through 24,500 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.03 billion.

Market capitalistion lost EGP 721.5 million and closed at EGP 902.01 billion.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 46 million, while foreign and Arab were net sellers with EGP 30 million and EGP 16 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.29% to EGP 85.5, with a turnover of EGP 109.8 million.
