EGX ends Wednesday mixed amid heavy liquidity

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a varied note with a heavy liquidity of around EGP 1.7 billion.

The main EGX30 index dropped by 0.75% to end the session at 9,801 points.

In the meantime, the small and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 1.13% to 1,107 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up by 0.04% to 1,073 points.

The EGX50 index increased by 0.87% to 1,486 points.

The market cap value fell by EGP 1.9 billion to EGP 544.14 billion.

A total of 373.1 million shares were traded through a turnover of EGP 1.672 billion through nearly 30,840 transactions.

Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 793.7 million and EGP 52.2 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 845.9 million.
