EGX ends mixed; market cap sheds EGP2.05bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange finished the mid-week trading session on a mixed note.

The main index EGX30 lowered 120.01 points, or 0.92%, to close at 12,882.88 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted index EGX50 was 0.64% down to 1,957.74 points.

Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap index rose 0.5% to 475.58 points and the broader index ended 0.1% higher.

Market capitalization declined EGP 2.05 billion to end at EGP 618.7 billion.

Trading volumes reached 260.6 million shares traded in 29,900 transactions at EGP 618.7 billion.

Nationals and Arabs were net sellers by EGP 40.9 million and EGP 32.8 million, while foreigners were net buyers by EGP 62.76 million.

Thirteen blue-chip stocks saw a rise ranging from 5.71% to 0.08%, including Telecom Egypt (+4.14%) and Pioneers Holding (+2.83%).

On the flipside, the red area was occupied by 17 stocks, led by Emaar (-4.30%) and TMG (-3.76%).
