EGX gains 100 pts early Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading session up on the back of purchases by foreign and Arab investors.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 101.82 points, or 0.66%, to 14,905 points.

The small and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.05% to 719.97 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.11% to 1,814 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.32% to 2,433 points.

The bourse's trading volume reached around 23.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 60.5 million through 2,260 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 3.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 3.3 and EGP 198,700, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 1.17% to EGP 71.
