EGX gains EGP 17.3bn in market cap at Sunday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a rising note on the back of local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index climbed by 4.59% to end at 11,108 points, hitting its highest closing level since mid-March.

Similarly, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI increased by 3.09% to 1,259 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI rose by 3.31% to 2,028 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index hiked by 3.63% to 1,648 points.

The market cap value gained EGP 17.3 billion to close at EGP 585.47 billion on Sunday.

Foreign and local investors were net buyers with EGP 15.05 million and EGP 162.11 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 177.17 million.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.38 billion after 493.01 million shares were exchanged through about 48,919 transactions.
