Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) reached its highest level in 26 sessions, on the back of the buying activity of Arab investors.
The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.83%, and closed at the level of 13,092.4 points, its highest level since 9 February.
EGX70 gained 0.63% and reached 535.7 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.57% to the level of 1,267.32 points.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 also increased by 1.2% and closed at 2,025.39 points.
Traded values reached EGP 1.22 billion, with a volume of 295.32 million shares.
Arab investors’ trade activity leaned towards buying, netting EGP 70.65 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at EGP 30.5 million and EGP 40.1 million, respectively.
Egypt Aluminum led the session’s gainers and surged 9.99%, while Modern Waterproofing (Bitumode) was the biggest loser and dropped 5.53%. Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB), the stock with the heaviest weight in the main index, went up by 1.48%, and closed at EGP 77.25.
