EGX hits new record for 9th streak session early Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday up for the ninth session in a row on the back of local buying.

By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 119.06 points, or 0.71%, to 17,109 points.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.16% to 911.90 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.9% to 2,302 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.22% to 2,881 points.

Trading volume reached about22.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 206.4 million through 2,900 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 20.04 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 3.6 million and EGP 16.3 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.38% to EGP 87.5.
