EGX hovers above 13,800 pts at Sunday’s close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session up amid local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 2.3% above 13,800 points at 13,817.1 points, gaining 310.45 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index rose 1.77% to 684.41 points, while the broader EGX100 index grew 1.73% to 1,724.44 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 2.51% to 2,215.38 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 779.3 billion, gaining EGP 14.1 billion.

Trading volume stood at 156.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 77.8 billion through 25,600 transactions.

Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 127.4 million, while Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 113.2 million and EGP 14.2 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 2.55% to EGP 84.44 with a traded value of EGP 29.7 million.
