Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session with a mixed performance.
The benchmark EGX30 index slid by 0.6% to end the session at 14,013.26 points.
On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.43% to close at 545.74 points, while the broader EGX100 index increased by 0.22% to 14,11.94 points.
In the meantime, the equal-weighted EGX50 index retreated 1.24%, finishing the session at 2,069.81 points.
Market capitalisation declined by EGP 2.28 billion to close at EGP 746.88 billion on Wednesday, compared to EGP 749.16 billion on Tuesday.
Trading volume reached 141 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 2.99 billion through nearly 17,530 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 1.5 billion, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 210.6 million and EGP 1.3 billion, respectively.
