EGX hovers above 18,200 pts early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session up on the back of foreign and Arab buying.

By 10:31 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index rose 145.91 points, or 0.81%, to 18,226.77 points.

The EGX70 index edged up 0.21% to 865.04 points, and the EGX100 index added 0.19% to 2,277.39 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.26% to 3,095 points.

Trading volume on stocks reached 31.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 178.3 million through 3,700 transactions.

Egyptian investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 29.46 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 6.1 million and EGP 23.33 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.56% to EGP 92, with a turnover of EGP 29.4 million.
