Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local buying.
By 10:2 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 1.28%, to 12,295 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.20% to 656.2 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.33% to 1,634.6 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.26% to 2.033.4 points.
Trading volume amounted to 28.2 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 7.3 million through 1,400 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 2 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 1.04 million and EGP 913,500, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.67% to EGP 69.25.
