Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) have seen an upward trend early Tuesday on the back of local purchases.
By 10:13 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 0.23% to 13,956.55 points, gaining 45.21 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.04% to 686.23 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.07% to 1,728 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.23% to 2,238 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 6.2 million shares exchanged through 1,050 transactions at a turnover of EGP 30.9 million.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 0.25% to EGP 84.5.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 2.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 2.3 million and EGP 186,400, respectively.
