Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a positive note.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 1.71% to finish the session at 14,148 points.
Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.59% to close at 604.75 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index grew by 0.78% to 1,544.53 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index increased by 2.02% to close at 2,138 points.
Market capitalisation gained about EGP 10.2 billion to EGP 761.18 billion on Monday from EGP 750.98 billion on Sunday.
Trading volume registered 176.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.43 billion through about 25,940 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 445.93 million, while Arab and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 8.7 million and EGP 437.2 million, respectively.
