Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session in green territory, supported by Egyptian purchases.
The benchmark EGX30 index added 169.53 points, or 1.34%, to close at 12,840.16 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.39% to 672.4 points, while the EGX100 index grew 0.71% to 1,682.03 points.
The equally weighted index EGX50 rose 1.32% to 2,111 points.
The bourse's trading volume reached 94.07 million shares, while liquidity recorded EGP 404.44 million.
Egyptians were mostly buyers, with transactions valued at EGP 3.8 million, while Arabs and foreigners were mainly sellers, with deals valued at EGP 2.05 million and EGP 1.8 million, respectively.
The stock of the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 1.29% to EGP 73.1.
Market capitalisation retreated to EGP 734.7 billion.
