EGX hovers over 15,600 pts early Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday up, encouraged by Arab and foreign buying.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 121.77 points, or 0.82%, to 15,644.65 points.

The EGX70 index rose 0.29% to 864.67 points, while the EGX100 index gained 1.13% to 2,127 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.44% to 2,732 points.

Trading volume reached about 25.23 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 263.6 million through 3,900 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 4.7 million, while Arab and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 182,900 and EGP 3.6 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank’s –Egypt (CIB) stock shed 0.22% to EGP 77.9 at a turnover of EGP 1 million.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank’s - Egypt (ADIB) stock topped risers with 3.54%, followed by Abu Qir Fertilizers with 2.87%, and EFG Hermes with 2.31%.

On the flipside, the stocks of Citadel Capital’s, Palm Hills Developments, and Ezz Steel dropped 0.71%, 0.48%, and 0.47%, respectively.
