EGX indices close on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on mixed note on Thursday, while the market capitalization gained EGP 8.2 billion on buying activity by foreign investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 gained 2.04% or 224.18 points to close at 11,221.56 points, reaching its most high level in almost eight year and half.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 slide 0.13% to close at 428.3 points, while the broader index EGX100 added 0.75% to close at 1,018.25 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 gained 0.43% to close at 1,761.90 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP 8.2 billion reaching EGP 544.1 billion.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 111.1 million, while local and Arab investors were sellers with EGP 84.7 million and EGP 26.4 million respectively.

The market witnessed 874.7 million shares changed hands worth EGP 2.6 billion.

Out of 194 stocks traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 85 to 82, while 27 stocks remained unchanged.

Today’s top gainers included Egypt Kuwait Holding, up 9.8%, Eastern Co, up 2.5%, and Madinet Nasr Housing, up 1.6%. On the downside, today’s worst performing stocks were: Domty, and ACC, both falling by 10.0%, and GB Auto whose share price fell 6.9%.
