Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices closed on mixed note on Thursday, last session in 2016, while the market capitalization gained EGP 321 million.
The benchmark index EGX30 gained 0.69% or 85.06 points to close at 12,344.89 points.
The small and medium caps index EGX70 slide 0.22%, while the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.13%.
The equal weighted index EGX50 slipped 0.72% to 1,924.76 points.
The market witnessed 445.9 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.49 billion, carried out through 32,900 transactions.
Out of 182 stocks traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 118 to 42, while 22 stocks remained unchanged.
The market capitalization gained EGP 321.8 million reaching EGP 601.5 billion.
Local investors were sellers with EGP 274.5 million, while Arab and foreign investors were buyers with EGP 110.5 million and EGP 164.01 million respectively.
CIB, the heaviest stock of the EGX30, supported the index as its share price rose 1.9%.
Today’s top performing stocks were: Domty, up 5.6%, Ezz Steel, up 5.0%, and EFG Hermes, up 3.8%. Today’s worst performing stocks included Egyptian Resorts, Amer Group, both declined 6.3%, and Elsaeed Contracting, down 4.4%
