Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continued its way down early Tuesday.
By 10:35 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index lost 287 points, or 2.09%, to 13,465 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX70 index slid by 0.97% to 495 points, while the EGX100 index declined by 1.10% to 1,319 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index retreated 1% to 1,895 points.
Trading volume reached 55.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 173.2 million through about 4,900 transactions.
Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 16.2 million and EGP 3.6 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 19.8 million.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid by 2.19% to EGP 76, generating a turnover of EGP 46.2 million.
Egyptian Iron and Steel headed decliners and fell by 4.62%.
