EGX indices in red at Monday’s close; market cap loses EGP 306m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session with a sideways-to-declining performance.

The benchmark EGX30 index dropped by 0.29% to close at 14,887 points.

Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index slid by 0.38% to 556.41 points, while the broader EGX100 index retreated 0.27% to 1,473 points.

Moreover, the equal-weighted EGX50 index fell by 0.42% to 2,174 points.

Market capitalisation lost nearly EGP 306 million to EGP 774.49 billion on Monday from EGP 777.55 billion on Sunday.

Trading volume reached 166.32 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.47 billion through nearly 22,960 transactions.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 15.95 million and EGP 18.79 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 34.74 million.
