EGX indices on mixed note in early trade

Cairo – Mubasher: EGX indices showed a varying performance in Monday’s trading session, while EGX30 declined by 0.43% to 7,372 points. 

The equal-weighted index EGX50 rose 1.06% to 1,386 points. The small and mid-cap index EGX70 opened 0.25% higher to 363 points. The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.02% to 777 points.

With 18 million shares changing hands, trading value reached EGP24 million at 10:15am Cairo time.

Nationals were net sellers by EGP4.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP3.7 million and 631,000 respectively.

CIB, the largest EGX30 constituent, rose 0.92% and gained EGP6 million after 153,000 shares were traded, thus topping Monday’s list of trading value.

The top losers were Naeem Holding, Pioneers, and SODIC by 4.55%, 3.16%, and 2.87% correspondingly.

The top gainers were Tourism Urbanization, Beltone Financial, and General Company for Land Reclamation, Development and Reconstruction by 9.93%, 7.76%, and 4.69%.

Earlier, analysts said Cairo bourse is likely to see a wave of profit-taking during the first half of Monday’s trading session, pointing out to a possible upturn in the second half of the session on momentum created by $25 billion agreements between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
