EGX indices open Monday on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) benchmark EGX30 index opened 0.12% or 15.28 points up to the level of 13,294.89 points early Monday.

By 10:45 am Cairo time, the EGX70 index went up 0.33% at 717.82 points, while the EGX100 index ascended 0.24% at 1,604.49 points.

The equally-weighted EGX50 index added 0.23% at 2,095 points.

Trading volume reached 53.07 million shares exchanged at EGP 82.5 million through 2,800 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 2.68 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 1.6 million and EGP 1.006 million, respectively.

Blue chips including Arabian Food Industries Co (Domty), Egyptian Financial and Industrial Co (EFIC), and Madinet Nasr Housing and Development levelled up 1.35%, 1.27%, and 1.22%, respectively.

On the other hand, Heliopolis Company for Housing and Development, Arabian Cement, and EFG Hermes Holding dropped 1.19%, 1.11%, and 0.92%, respectively.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) inched up 0.4% to EGP 82.96.
