EGX indices open Tuesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange's (EGX) indices opened on positive note, bolstered by Arab buying early Tuesday.

By 10:33 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 0.4% or 53.9 points to the level of 13,189.0 points.

The EGX70 index ascended 0.20% to 707.18 points, while the EGX100 index went up 0.23% to 1,582.39 points.

The equally-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.53% at 2,084 points.

Trading volume amounted to 20.26 million shares exchanged at EGP 62.03 million through 2,180 transactions.

Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 5.4 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 4.5 million and EGP 1.05 million, respectively.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) inched up 0.07% to EGP 81.61.

Extracted Oils, Oriental Weavers, and Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals, the rising blue chips, levelled up 2.82%, 2.62%, and 2.41%.

The EGX sideways-to-declining performance is expected to continue, Analysts said to Mubasherm noting that the benchmark EGX30 index may test the level of 12,700 points during the next session after failing to exceed the level of 13,260 points.
