EGX indices open on mixed note

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked off Wednesday on mixed note, as the benchmark index EGX30 slide 0.40% reaching the level of 6,993.4 points on the decline of leading stocks.

The stocks of Commercial International Bank, Orascom Construction, Palm Hills, Emaar Misr and Juhayna went down within the range of 0.4% and 1.6%.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went up 0.44% to 384.7 points; while the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.02% to 790.7 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 edged up 0.36% to 1,203.7 points.

The market's total trading value reached EGP 47 million, with 15 million shares changed hand through 1,900 transactions

Foreign and Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 3 million and EGP 445,000 respectively, while local investors came as net buyers with EGP 3.5 million.
