Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) finished the last trading session this week on a lower note, reversing a three-session rise.
The benchmark EGX30 inched down 0.05% or 3 points to 5,944.5 points. The small and mid-cap EGX70 edged down 0.25% to 349.4 points. Likewise, the broader index ended the session lower 0.16% to 704.4 points. Unlike this slight decline, the equal-weighted index EGX50 rose 0.32% to 1,097 points.
Market capitalisation added EGP 904 million ($115 million) to finish the session at EGP 386.2billion against EGP 385.3billion on Wednesday.
Today’s trading value amounted EGP 254.2 million. 43 stocks moved up; 62 moved down; and 46 remain unchanged.
National and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP6.7 million and EGP15.3 million correspondingly, while Arab investors tend to buy stocks by EGP22 million
Tracking the stock performance, the best gainers were Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry, Beltone Financial Holding, Tourah Portland Cement, Raya Holding for Technology and Communications, General Company for Land Reclamation, Development and Reconstruction that advanced within the range of 4.7% to 8.1%.
On the negative front, the worst losers were Real Estate Egyptian Consortium, Reacap Financial Investments, El Wadi for Touristic Investment, Golden Coast El Sokhna for Touristic Investment, Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment that advanced within range of 3.9% to 5.6%.
