EGX loses 1.08% at close, ends 9-day gaining streak

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in red, ending a nine-session gaining streak.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined 1.08% or 139.61 points to the level of 12,789.52 points.

Likewise, the EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices dropped 0.23%, 0.46%, and 0.92%, respectively.

Turnover reached EGP 1.14 billion, as trading volume amounted to 199.9 million shares.

Market capitalisation retreated by EGP 1.14 billion to EGP 634.4 billion.

Net purchases by foreign investors reached EGP 49.7 million, while net sales came to EGP 37.6 million by Egyptian investors and EGP 12.1 million by Arabs.

HADISOLB rose 3.54%, Arabian Cement grew 3.4%, and Egypt Kuwait Holding advanced 1.54%.

On the other hand, Domty fell 4.33%, Cairo Oil and Soap declined 4.1%, and Porto Holding slid 3.85%.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shrank 1.94% to EGP 77.
