Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading on a negative note as its indices fell collectively.
By 10:15am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index fell 1.41% or 176.57 points to the level of 12,327.3 points.
Likewise, the EGX70, EGX100 and EGX50 indices declined by 0.51%, 0.86% and 1.38% respectively.
Trading volume reached 13 million shares, turnover amounted to EGP 38.4 million.
Net sales by local investors reached EGP 5.8 million, while net purchases by Arab and foreign traders amounted to EGP 1.5 million and EGP 4.3 million respectively.
Heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) dropped 1.49% to EGP 75.25, with a turnover of EGP 2.8 million.
Orascom Construction topped losers after falling 8.03% to EGP 86.10, followed by Telecom Egypt with a fall of 7.41%.
