EGX marks two-session low early Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) has weighed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) early Monday for the second trading session in a row.

By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index shed 67.46 points, or 0.51%, to 13,086.09 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index remained stable at 681.11 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index inched down 0.06% to 1,700 points.

Moreover, the equal-weighted EGX50 index dipped 0.12% to 2,167 points.

Trading volume amounted to 10.3 million shares exchanged through 1,500 transactions at a turnover of EGP 48.39 million.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 8.9 million, while Egyptian and Arab were net buyers with EGP 7.1 million and EGP 1,800, respectively.

CIB plummeted 1.55% to EGP 73.17, with a turnover of EGP 18.4 million.
