Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading on a negative note, pressured by sales by local investors.
By 10:29am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index fell 0.25% or 31.51 points to the level of 12,468.24 points.
Likewise, the EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices declined 0.17%, 0.17%, and 0.46%, respectively.
Trading volume reached 26.3 million shares exchanged at EGP 180.25 million.
Net sales by local investors amounted to EGP 2.8 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 927,700 and EGP 1.9 million.
Domty shrank 2.63%, Orascom Construction slipped 2.32%, AMOC declined 1.54%, and Egypt Kuwait Holding retreated 1.52%.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) dropped 0.24% to EGP 74.5.
The main gauge rose on Sunday by 1.54% or 189.12 points to the level of 12,499.61 points.
