Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen a massive increase early Wednesday, the first trading session of 2019.
By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 141.19 points, or 1.07%, to 13,175.8 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.37% to 696 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.44% to 1,734 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.66% to 2,164 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 7.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 35.5 million through 1,400 transactions.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 152,200, whereas foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 147,170 and EGP 5,090, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose by 2.93% to EGP 76.3.
