EGX opens February’s 1st trade in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session, the first session of February and last of the week, up on the back of non-Arab buying.

By 10:29 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.38% or 57.37 points to 15,100.17 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.61% to 868.16 points, while the EGX100 index gained 0.37% to 2,049 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index inched up 0.14% to 2,694 points.

Trading volume reached about 15.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 74.12 million through 2,190 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 9.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with  EGP 797,800 and EGP 8.9 million respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.78% to EGP 78.95 at a turnover of EGP 2.11 million.
