EGX opens Monday higher amid Arab, foreign buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) benchmark EGX30 rose 35% or 47.58 points to the level of 13,606.04 points early Monday.

By 10:25 am Cairo time, the EGX70 levelled up 0.46% to 718.18 points, while the EGX100 added 0.38% to 1,618.51 points, and the EGX50 inched up 0.5% to 2,112 points.

Trading volume reached 27.9 million shares exchanged at EGP 111.3 million through 2,400 transactions.

Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 15.15 million and EGP 2.2 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net sellers by EGP 18.9 million.

Madinet Nasr Housing, Citadel Capital, and Alexandria Mineral Oils (AMOC) went up 2.36%, 1.75%, and 1.61%, respectively.

On the other hand, Cairo Oils and Soap, Elsewedy Electric, and Egyptian Financial and Industrial dropped 1.67%, 0.84%, and 0.52%, respectively.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt's (CIB) stock edged up 0.71% to EGP 84.69.
