EGX opens Monday in green on local, foreign buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up on the back of local and foreign buying.

By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.55% or 81.86 points to 14,956.70 points.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.11% to 858.78 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.27% to 2,046 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.47% to 2,656 points.

Trading volume stood at about 15.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 82.5 million through 1,800 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 989,000, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 379,000 and EGP 609,900, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.30% to EGP 77.5 at a turnover of EGP 495,300.
