EGX opens Monday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up on the back foreign and Arab buying.

By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.02% or 2.37 points to 15,313.52 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) edged up 0.59% to EGP 80.55 at a turnover of EGP 41.6 million.

The EGX70 index added 0.49% to 858.69 points, while the EGX100 index edged up 0.35% to 2,037 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.45% to 2,738 points.

Trading volume reached about 16.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 151.4 million through 3,100 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 5.06 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 5.3 million and EGP 254,000 respectively.
