EGX opens Monday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and Arab buying.

By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 16.23 points, or 0.12%, to 13,166.31 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.01% to 675.32 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.05% to 1,692.56 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.10% to 217.11 points.

Trading volume amounted to 16.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 71.3 million through 1,600 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 78,600, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 23,010 and EGP 55,600, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.74% to EGP 74.
