EGX opens Monday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up on the back of purchases by Egyptian traders.

By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 49.8 points, or 0.33%, to 15,083.28 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.04% to 697.94 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.11% to 1,773.12 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.38% to 2,466 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume reached around 10.6 million shares exchanged through 2,110 transactions at a turnover of EGP 69.4 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 422,900, whereas foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 16,020 and 406,900, respectively.

The heavyweight commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.03% to EGP 69.94, with a turnover of EGP 2.28 million.
