EGX opens Monday near-stable

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session in the green on the back of local buying.

By 10:28 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.05% or 6.9 points to 14,720.32 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.1% to 798.61 points and the EGX100 index edged up 0.06% to 1,862.41 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.08% to 2,543.7 points.

Trading volume reached 12.5 million shares exchanged through 1,100 transactions at a turnover of EGP 29.15 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 955,500, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 228,180 and EGP 727,300, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.1% to EGP 76.4.
