EGX opens Monday near-stable

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a positive performance early Monday on the back of foreign buying.

By 10:15 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.06% or 18.8 points to 14,799.95 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.08% to 833.01 points, while the EGX100 index leveled up 0.03% to 1,970.81 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index inched up 0.01% to 2,569 points.

Trading volume stood at about 6.6 million shares exchanged through 897 transactions at a turnover of EGP 28.5 million.

Foreign investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 2.07 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 306,500 and EGP 2.3 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 0.48% to EGP 76 at a turnover of EGP 2.8 million.
