EGX opens Monday near-stable

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up on the back of non-Arab buying.

By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.03%, or 4.65 points, to 14,833 points.

The EGX70 index grew 0.58% to 848.25 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.37% to 2,021 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.33% to 2,631 points.

Trading volume stood at about 7.13 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 21.5 million through 966 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 195,900, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 116,300 and EGP 79,500, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial Central Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.67% to EGP 76.51 at a turnover of EGP 757,600.
