EGX opens Monday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 65.01 points, or 0.4%, to 16,715.02 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.11% to 854.07 points, while the EGX100 index dipped 0.16% to 2,174 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.21% to 2,895 points.

Trading volume on stocks reached around 26.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 124.5 million through 2,700 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 4.5 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 1.07 million and EGP 3.43 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.64% to EGP 84.11, with a turnover of EGP 55,030.
