EGX opens Monday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:18 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 0.20% to 15,010 points, gaining 29 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.01% to 708.41 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.03% to 1,790.18 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.27% to 2,446.7 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 9.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 45 million through 1,200 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 8.1 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 6.1 million and EGP 2 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.71% to EGP 71.3.
