EGX opens Monday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index shed 0.72%, to 14,734 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.05% to 686.69 points, while the broader EGX100 index dipped 0.09% to 1,741 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index slipped 0.69% to 2,402 points.

Trading volume reached around 16.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 54.9 million through 1,500 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 131,700, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 130,800 and EGP 940,000, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell 063% to EGP 68, with a turnover of EGP 2.8 million.
