EGX opens Sunday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign buying.

By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 1.36% to 13,549.22 points, gaining 182.51 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 3.12% to EGP 76.4.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.10% to 688.02 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.29% to 1,729.03 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.66% to 2,222 points.

Trading volume amounted to 11.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 74.23 million through 1,900 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGX 1.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 110,400 and EGP 1.6 million, respectively.
