EGX opens Sunday near-stable

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose slightly early Sunday on the back of purchases by Egyptian and Arab investors.

By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.01% to 13,484.83 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.05% to 673.87 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.08% to 1,698 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.23% to 2,185 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to 13.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 33.9 million through 1,250 transactions.

Foreign investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 1.26 million, whereas Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 365,800 and EGP 900,240, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.6% to EGP 79.11.
