EGX opens Sunday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note amid Arab and local buying against foreign selling.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index dipped 0.23% or 34.85 points to 14,886.44 points.

The EGX70 index gained 0.29% to 850.98 points, while the EGX100 index edged up 0.11% to 2,028 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index inched up 0.05% to 2,648 points.

Trading volume amounted to about 11 million shares exchanged through 2,080 transactions at a turnover of EGP 42.9 million.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 1.1 million, while Arab and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 924,900 and EGP 191,050, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial international Bank (CIB) slid 0.01% to EGP 76.2 at a turnover of EGP 991,500.
