Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a positive performance early Thursday, bolstered by local buying.
By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 0.20% or 27.67 points to the level of 13,929.02.
The EGX70 index edged up 0.34% to 775.81 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.31% to 1,741.06 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.8% to 2,474 points.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 7.6 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 3.5 million and EGP 4 million, respectively.
Trading volume reached about 54.8 million shares exchanged through 3,600 transactions at a turnover of EGP 104.9 million.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) slipped 0.38% to EGP 76.9 at a turnover of EGP 2.8 million.
