EGX opens Thursday higher

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday in the green, boosted by a buying trend from foreign and Egyptian investors.

By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 106.57 points, or 0.78%, reaching 13,722 points, while the EGX70 index inched up 0.09% to 692.75 points.

The EGX100 index increased 0.18%, reaching 1,740.22 points, while the equal-weighted EGX50 index grew 0.53% to 2,205 points.

The bourse saw 19.29 million shares traded, through 2,900 transactions, generating EGP 72.6 million.

Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 1.7 million, whereas foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 530,500, and EGP 1.25 million, respectively.

The Commercial International Bank’s – Egypt (CIB) stock rose 1.2% to EGP 81.54, with a trading value of EGP 4.5 million.
