EGX opens Thursday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen an upward trend early Thursday on the back of purchases by the Egyptian and Arab investors.

By 10:29 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 26.12 points, or 0.18%, to 13,757.24 points.

The small- and mid-cap index EGX70 edged up 0.19% to 689.64 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.21% to 1,731 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.77% to 2,246 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 39.015 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 163.9 million through 3,350 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 27.3 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 24.4 million and EGP 2.83 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 0.3% to EGP 80.88.
