Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday, the second trading session in 2019, in green territory.
By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX 30 index rose 0.3%, or 39.66 points, to 13,244 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.16%, reaching 699.06 points.
The broader EGX100 increased 0.17%, to 1,741.04 points, while the equal-weighted EGX50 index grew 0.30% to 2,176 points.
The EGX’s traded volume reached 19 million shares exchanged through 2,300 transactions at a turnover of EGP 79.8 million.
Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 3.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 307,700, and EGP 3.2 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank’s (CIB) stock, went up 0.05% to EGP 75.95, with a turnover of EGP 7.5 million.
